If you can’t access Windows 11 after some updates or your own messed up ideas, Microsoft said you can use WinRE to remove updates. To do this, go to WinRE, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Uninstall Updates, and choose to uninstall the latest quality or feature update.
But remember, if you use BitLocker, you’ll also need the recovery key to access recovery features.

Microsoft and OpenAI define AGI with profit milestone. Microsoft and OpenAI have set a unique definition for artificial general intelligence (AGI). They consider AGI achieved when OpenAI makes $100 billion in profit from its AI systems.
This is different from the usual definition, which focuses on AI performing tasks like humans. The profit goal gives them a clear, measurable target. Once reached, Microsoft will lose access to OpenAI’s models and must rely on its own AI systems.
But hey, does OpenAI even make money? They had a revenue of just $4 billion, which is nothing. Does that mean Microsoft will never lose access to OpenAI models, as this version of "AGI" is almost impossible?

US PC market growth slows, prices may rise. Analyst firm Canalys predicts US PC market growth will slow to 2% annually in 2025 and 2026 due to weaker Windows upgrades. Copilot+ PCs also failed to do the magic. For 2024, growth is expected to hit 6%, boosted by current demand.
Canalys analyst Greg Davis warned that upcoming import tariffs and budget cuts in government and education could impact the market. PC prices could rise by 46% due to these tariffs.
In Q3 2024, HP led PC market share at 24.2%, followed by Dell at 22.3%, Lenovo at 17.2%, Apple at 15.8%, and Acer at 6.6%. Acer at 15.6%, while Dell dropped 2.3%.

Microsoft's partner OpenAI announces O3, a powerful reasoning model. OpenAI O3 marks a big step forward in AI handling new tasks. In tests with ARC-AGI, O3 scored 75.7% in low-compute mode (costing $20 per task) and 87.5% in high-compute mode (costing thousands per task).
While O3 is impressive, it is not AGI. There are still many simple tasks, like those in ARC-AGI-1, that it cannot solve, and ARC-AGI-2 will be even harder.
This shows we can still design tests that humans solve easily, but AI cannot, without needing specialist knowledge. AGI will be reached when such benchmarks become impossible to create.

Microsoft CEO: Google earns more from Windows than Microsoft. But how? According to Satya Nadella, Google profits more from Windows through search ads that show on its search engine.
In a podcast, he explained that Google’s dominance in search allows it to profit from Windows users, even though Microsoft owns the platform. Nadella acknowledged Microsoft’s struggles to compete in search and past failed attempts to partner with Apple to make Bing the default search engine.
He also pointed out that Windows’ open system benefits rival AI like ChatGPT, but Nadella still believes AI might change everything and make Google dance again.

Windows 11 24H2 removes Start menu bloatware in new installations. If you’ve reinstalled Windows 11 before, you’re probably familiar with the Start menu being filled with pinned apps and placeholders for ads.
Some users report that after installing Windows 11 24H2 online and rejecting sync functions, the Start menu is empty except for Edge, Settings, and Explorer. Ad apps are gone, though all apps, including preinstalled ones like Solitaire, are still listed under “All.”
The change applies to Home and Pro editions when installed using an MS account. However, offline installations still show placeholders, but they disappear. BUT HEY, this is EU only!
