Lumia 950 XL can be considered as one of the best tech with new technologies like Continuum, Microsoft Hello, and Liquid Cooling.
But even the best hardware always needs the best software to make it perfect. Remember the old saying, “It’s the driver that first decides who will win the race, not the car.”
Similarly, the Lumia 950 XL needs the best driver, aka Windows 10 Mobile OS, to reach its full potential. Various reports indicate that Microsoft is working on major updates to improve the user experience of this device.
According to documents seen by WindowsLatest.com, here are some features Microsoft may include in an update for the new flagship:
Forced HDR
The current Windows Camera app offers only two options for Rich Capture, also known as HDR:
- Off
- Auto
Users can’t adjust HDR to suit their needs. In Google’s latest Android M, we see the following options:
- HDR Off
- HDR+
- Auto HDR+
Skype Fixes
Skype has a major issue where, if users are logged out, they cannot log back in over LTE; the only way to log in is through WiFi. This can be a serious inconvenience, especially for business users.
Battery Life
Even though the Lumia 950 XL is equipped with a 3340 mAh battery, many users report that it doesn’t last a full day. This is likely a software issue that needs to be addressed in an upcoming update.
We are hoping to see a new update sometime in February.
