Hotstar for Windows Phone

Hotstar is an international, free online streaming service that allows you to watch your favourite TV shows and movies online at no cost. The Hotstar app is available on the Android and iOS stores. The company promised that it would launch a Hotstar app for Windows Phone devices, but it looks like the plan is on hold.

In a statement to Windows Latest, Hotstar confirmed that it has no plans to launch a Windows Phone app.

A few months ago, the company said their app was coming soon, but it seems Microsoft keeps discouraging developers from building Windows Phone apps.

“No such plans as fo now, however, we will share your request with the App Development Team. Stay tuned for updates,” the company told WindowsLatest.com in a statement, as shared in the above screenshot.

While Hotstar does not have a Windows Phone app, Netflix has a full-fledged streaming app. It’s not on par with its Android counterpart in terms of new features, but it gets the job done, and one can hope that it will eventually get better as Windows Phone continues to gain market share in the mobile market.

We expect the company to release the Hotstar app later this year, and we will give them a warm welcome. Do you want the Hotstar app for Windows Phone? Let us know in the comment below.
